The Afterlife on film.
Do Your Own Due Diligence
Update, 12/19/14

The entire movie depicts the astral plane/afterlife.
     ■ None of it depicts life on earth.
     ■ (For a brief discussion of this view with the author of
War in Heaven, see "The Matrix (movie)" at RS forum.)

Note the scene after Neo takes the red pill, and the surrealistic way he is "woken up" from within the Elemental (Matrix), and then transported/transferred to an alternate astral area, outside of the Elemental (Matrix).

He is a part of the Elemental, and then he is not.
     ■ He does not die, thus no age change of the characterr.

Unlike in the Matrix (the program of the Elemental), where the "silver cord" and connection to the Matrix is always concealed,
     ■ In the alternate astral world, the unused "silver cord" connection port to the Matrix is obvious in every scene.
     ■ The famous scenes of dodging bullets, and the various gravity-defying movements are not incongruous in the astral world.

In the movie, "The Matrix," the scene of the endless pods of human being batteries misrepresents the actual situation — yet another 'limited hangout'?

It is inferred that each of those pods contains a living, incarnate human being, when in fact the more accurate representation would be that each pod contains a discarnate soul in the astral world.

  • “Thomas Anderson is a computer programmer who maintains a double life as the hacker "Neo". Another hacker named Trinity contacts Neo and informs him that a man named Morpheus can tell him the meaning of "the Matrix", a phrase that Neo has encountered repeatedly online but does not understand.

“However, three dark-suited Agents, led by Agent Smith, are determined to prevent Neo from finding out what the True meaning and intention of what "The Matrix" is. Neo eventually meets Morpheus, who warns him that once he shows Neo the Matrix, he will not be able to "go back". Neo accepts his offer by choosing the red pill; his reality soon disintegrates and he abruptly wakes, naked and weak, in a liquid-filled vessel, finding himself as one of billions of people connected by cables to an elaborate electrical system. He is rescued and brought aboard Morpheus's levitating ship, the Nebuchadnezzar.” (LINK)

  • Summary: “Thomas A. Anderson is a man living two lives. By day he is an average computer programmer and by night a malevolent hacker known as Neo. Neo has always questioned his reality but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Neo finds himself targeted by the police when he is contacted by Morpheus, a legendary computer hacker branded a terrorist by the government. Morpheus awakens Neo to the real world, a ravaged wasteland where most of humanity have been captured by a race of machines which live off of their body heat and imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as the Matrix. As a rebel against the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and confront the agents, super powerful computer programs devoted to snuffing out Neo and the entire human rebellion.” (LINK)
Movie's Central Idea
  • “The movie's central idea is this: it is now around 2199, and back in the early 21st century, a war broke out between humanity and an artificial intelligence (AI) and its mechanized minions. Because AI used solar power, the humans scorched the atmosphere to block the sun. In response, the AI found that it could collect power from the electrical impulses in human brains and BTUs generated by body heat, combined with a form of fusion. After winning the war, AI grew people artificially, like crops in a field. People are cocooned in vast arrays, where they mentally exist in a shared virtual world (much like a group of sci-fi geeks all simultaneously reading the same Star Trek novel, snicker snicker). The virtual world, called the Matrix (doncha know) looks just like 1999 earth, but like Star Trek's Nexus is an alluring drug, an illusion, a dream, shadows on a cave wall. In essence, each human is a slave living meaninglessly in a virtual environment - nothing more than a Duracell. Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) is a leader of a band of "unplugged" humans who've escaped the Matrix, and he thinks Neo (Keanu Reeves) is the new messiah, called The One, who will likewise rescue all humanity. Morpheus, Neo and other humanized rebels can re-enter the Matrix and can run up walls and dodge bullets because the Matrix is virtual and physical laws don't count. Heady stuff this, for an action movie. ”(LINK)

When Neo is 'unplugged', actually this describes being reincarnated.

In effect, forced out of the hive, as no soul wishes to reincarnate and forced to live a life of hardship and struggle. As above, so below.

Discarnate souls which are part of a composite Elemental are 'brainwashed' into believing that everything is roses, roses, roses.

But in fact the great majority of these discarnate souls are controlled as directly as the human brain controls the hands. "As long as the Earth's population goes on increasing, the existing elementals and Theocratic bands have a steady supply of new souls to feed upon or recruit."

The "vast array of cocooned people" depicted in the movie is an Elemental (see below) — a composite entity composed of souls which are literally linked together.

But in the movie, Neo does not reincarnate. He is not born an infant. Only a brief moment transpires between the time when Neo is unplugged and the moment he is dumped in the sewer, to be rescued by the Nebuchadnezzar's crew as a full-grown human.

  • “On one level, Elementals are specialized types of Theocratic bands. They are very large composite spirits containing thousands of human astral souls very closely linked together. On another, they are sentient creatures in their own right, with personalities and emotions quite different from those of ordinary human beings. One thing we want to stress: Elementals and humans are not two races of beings, but different forms of one race. The astral DNA template of both is identical, but humans are the individual form and Elementals are the composite form.
“Composite physical life forms exist on Earth. The bees, ants, termites, and other social insects are the most intelligent of these. The Elementals bear the same relationship to humans as an ordinary honey-bee colony does to a primitive, solitary bee or wasp.

“The nature of group minds depends on the amount of control they have over their individual members. There are roughly four levels of control, though each “intergrades” with the next. These can be verbalized as:
         ■ Cooperation
         ■ Persuasion
         ■ Coercion
         ■ Compulsion.

    ■ Cooperation is working with others because your mutual interests coincide, and the joint effort is of
mutual benefit without major concessions on the part of either party involved.
    ■ Persuasion is essentially barter: "I'll do this for you if you'll do that for me."
    ■ Coercion is similar, but the barter is negative: "I'll do harm to you unless you do some particular thing for me."
    ■ Compulsion is direct control of someone else that transcends that other person's volition.

    • Earthly societies operate mostly by cooperation and persuasion, with some coercion and only a small amount of compulsion.
    • A bee colony operates entirely by compulsion, almost in the same way that your brain operates your body through the nervous system.

“Human societies are superficially similar to composite entities, but they aren't true composites, because individual people have independent intelligence and will.

“However, the human astral soul has a strong potential for forming composite entities while it is in a disembodied state, because souls can literally link themselves together, as was described in the section on Theocratic bands.
    • There is much more compulsion in a Theocratic band on the astral plane than in any totalitarian society on Earth, because Theocrats attach their silver cords to other spirits and control them as directly as the human brain controls the hands.

“The structure of a Theocratic band as described earlier is similar to a wheel:
         ■ The spirit controlling the band is the hub, and the subordinate spirits are the spokes.
         ■ Notice that the world's oldest surviving religion, Vedanta, uses such a spoked wheel as its symbol.
         ■ The rayed sun used by many other religions is the same symbol, minus the rim of the wheel.
However, the rim is extremely important, because it indicates that a Theocratic band naturally produces a structure of astral matter separate from the individual souls attached to it.

“In other words, over the course of time, a Theocratic band develops its own astral soul and astral mind that is the equivalent of the composite astral mind of a bee or ant colony.
“As long as the Earth's population goes on increasing, the existing elementals and Theocratic bands have a steady supply of new souls to feed upon or recruit.” (LINK)
